“Todo aquel que piense que la vida es desigual, Tiene que saber que no es así, eue la vida es una hermosura, hay que vivirla” - Celia Cruz
Painted in Italy, on a visit to my parents in Pisa, exactly a year after a trip I made to Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil.
On a warm night, looking at some old pictures, I remembered the lights, music, and amazing vibes of the Rio Carnival and its parties. It’s a joy walking around the streets of Rio with people dancing and singing all the time. Probably the only city in the world that can transmit this kind of playful spirit that easily. It’s also a sequel to the previous painting, Banana Funky Murales, to always keep in mind to have fun, nurture the kid inside of you, and don’t take life too seriously. La vida es un carnaval, full of joy and beauty everywhere!
It’s ok to be childish, it’s ok to play. It’s ok as well to take risks. Lots of the most important pieces of art were born from playful minds. It fosters creativity. So remember to celebrate life at every moment, even when things look dark and grey, it’s important to recall that with a bit of music and a bit of sun, everything is easier and funnier. Colorful.
I wanted to express someway also the concept of floating like water, as I was reading “Be Water My Friend” by Bruce Lee at the time. It has been inspiring and it’s a philosophy of life that resonates a lot with my way of living, with the idea to adapt your course like water. Being able to have different forms and having the capacity to be chilled in any situation, knowing and trusting the process behind anything that happens in life. Finding a way to pass through obstacles. Working with a Kaizen mentality.
While having fun and enjoying life.
